Upcoming AEW Shows with the Largest Capacity

AEW is red hot at the moment. Since coming back on the road in front of fans they have seemingly been unstoppable with every announcement and every rumor being more exciting than the last. They recently announced that their second episode of rampage will take place in the united center in Chicago which ties into the reports that CM Punk is all elite. I think something that AEW has really taken advantage of since going back on the road is spotlighting the talent that is from the place where there shows are happening. Most notably with Lance Archer capturing the IWGP title in his home state of Texas. With that in mind I thought it would be interesting to look at the upcoming AEW shows with the highest capacity to maybe get some insight as to who could be getting a big pop, or where some marquee matches could be happening in the future.

#5 AEW Dynamite and Rampage: Cincinnati Ohio, estimated capacity 12,000

This one is fairly straight forward when asking who is going to get the biggest pop of the night. As you can tell from the picture above, Cincinnati Ohio is Jon Moxley territory. Ohio is also home to Brian Pillman Jr and Wardlow so look for them to be featured on the card in some way. This is also the Dynamite after All Out show so perhaps this could be the place for some exciting debuts. Daniel Bryan maybe.

#4 AEW Dynamite and Rampage: Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, estimated capacity 12,500

Once again, its pretty clear who is the draw in this city. The last time AEW was in Brittburgh Britt Baker got a huge ovation when she was just finding her ground in AEW. Fast forward almost two years later and she is the champ and one of the best performers in wrestling today. I think her broken wrist would most likely keep her from preforming in a match but perhaps they start her feud going into All Out with Statlander or Thunder Rosa. Well know soon enough what matches will take place for both Dynamite and the debut episode of Rampage. Last time they visited Pittsburgh the main event was Pac vs Jon Moxley so maybe we could see a member of the death triangle go up against Andrade El Idalo as that feud continues.

#3 AEW: Dynamite Newark New Jersey, estimated Attendance 18,700

One of two shows on this list taking place in the New York area this show in Rochester is bound to be a big one. The most notable member of the roster from the New Jersey area is Orange Cassidy and when you go back and watch the media tour Tony Kahn did when they announced the New York shows it makes sense why he brought Cassidy with him. I have a feeling that Cassidy could pick up a huge win in one of the New York shows. Other wrestlers from the New Jersey Area include Anthony Bowens, Nick Comoroto, Leyla Hersch, Joey Janela, Sonny Kiss, and QT Marshall.

#2 AEW Rampage Chicago Illinois, estimated capacity 21,000

Okay so remember every single time that any wrestling promotion announced they were going to Chicago there were always speculation weather or not CM Punk would show up and for years he wouldn’t, but some always held up hope that he would. Well, is it not wild that it seems like a sure thing that he is debuting on this show in Chicago in less than 3 weeks? Not only could he debut but be put into a feud with Darby Allin nonetheless. This quickly became a lot of wrestling fans most anticipated show of the year and for good reason. Here’s to all the people who always kept hoping.

#1 AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Queens New York, estimated capacity 23,800

AEWs first stadium show what an amazing scene this will be. With it practically being sold out already the anticipation for this event is extremely high and were not even close to its date yet. I think it’d be interesting to poll people on what there excited for more, Grand Slam or All Out. I know All Out will be the bigger show of the two but there’s something about stadium shows in wrestling that are such a spectacle and add that in with what should be a exciting time following All Out and you have the making for a very special show. Oh, and by the way The Butcher and Blade, Max Caster, MJF, Eddie Kingston, John Silver, and Taz all are from New York adding to the anticipation for the event. My guess would be that Eddie Kingston has a very big moment on the show.
