Tony Khan has been getting into the music licensing business more and more over the past few months and has gotten the rights to notable songs for many of his top talents. I would argue that a good entrance is critical for a wrestler’s overall package. Its hard to think of some of the best wrestlers of all time and not note their entrance music was always good, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, Triple H, even John Cena all have amazing music and are always talked about as the best to ever do it. It’s hard to name a wrestler people typically consider to the on the greatest of all time lists with a bad entrance song. With that said I figured now is the best time to rank the top 5 AEW entrance songs. For this list I am taking into consideration the crowds’ reactions to the song and the walkout as well as an overall fit with the wrestler that uses it.
#5 Kenny Omega- Battle Cry
Although I think Tony Khan has been on fire recently licensing notable music, here is an entrance that Kenny has had since the beginning
of AEW and is one of the more epic entrances in AEW. Kenny Omegas entrance is
what Cody Rhodes wants his entrance to be with the slow build into the chorus and
quite simply gets the crowd fired up. If you are not sure if this belongs, go
back to Revolution 2020 and watch Kenny Omegas full entrance and tell me its
not a top 5 entrance in the company.
#4 Hangman Page- Ghost Town Triumph
Speaking of that match from Revolution 2020 go back and
watch Hangman Pages entrance just before Kenny Omega or better yet just go back
and watch any Hangman Page Entrance when fans are in the arena. The crowd goes wild
every time his music hits and his entrance remind me a lot of Edges entrance in
the way how as soon as you hear the first note of the song you instantly get
excited.
#3 Jungle Boy- Tarzan Boy
I already liked Tarzan Boy way before it was Jungle Boys
theme and once Tony Khan announced he purchased the rights to the song I could
not think of a better fit for a wrestler. Clearly, I was not alone in my
thinking as the crowds have loved it and have sung along every time he walks
out. I think having an entrance like this could make Jungle Boy a huge star and
could bring him up as one of the top contenders and performers in AEW just
based on his music and the crowd’s participation with him and the music alone.
#2 Moxley & Kingston- Wild Thing
Another one of Tony Khan’s purchases, wild thing, instantly
fit as soon as Moxley first walked out to it. Their walkout at Double or
Nothing 2021 was one of the best walkouts I have ever seen. Its hard to even explain
all the reasons that make it so good, but it just works. Like Jungle Boy the
crowd has picked right up and sang along, making it one of the best walkouts in
AEW and making it one of the best entrances in wrestling history in my opinion.
#1 Chris Jericho- Judas
Originally, I had wild thing as #1 on my list but I thought about it, and I figured there was no way that Judas cannot take the number one spot. The way this song has changed from Jericho starting in AEW and people thinking it was a good song but not knowing the words really, to the crowd at Jericho’s cruise singing along as he enters the ring, to The Inner Circle turning full face and the first full crowd since the pandemic singing along to every word as one of the best wrestling shows of all time comes to a close. There’s times AEW will have the Inner Circle walk out only to play the music and have the crowd to sing along and I have no problem with them doing that.
